Dinner, Kroger Style

As you may know, I'm a BzzAgent, which means I get selected for a campaign to try out products for free or for a discount and share my honest opinion about them while spreading the word. I have not been paid for this and all opinions are my own.

If you don't know what bzzagent is you should definitely check it out at www.bzzagent.com. You fill out surveys and are selected, based on demographics, to try out great full size products and then spread the word about them.

I would have to say this is one of my favorite campaigns so far. If I hadn't been invited to this campaign I might never have tried these products simply because I didn't know about them. I chose the penne and grilled chicken in vodka sauce kroger skillet meal...it was delicious and I have purchased more. I think for the price there could be a little more in the bag, but still I really like the taste. One thing I don't like about the skillet meal is that it comes out of the bag in one big frozen block, which adds to the prep and cook time, I might try breaking it up before opening it next time.

I had never tried krogers garlic bread, but I found that I really like it. It is the perfect combination of crisp and crunchy on the outside and soft and buttery in the center. I will buy more if competitively priced.

I chose the Fresh Selections salad kit and while it was the best lettuce I have had in a kit(very crisp lettuce), the cheese and croutons were below average. I will repurchase the salad, but forego the included croutons and cheese in favor of my own. I don't really have anything to compare the skillet meal to, and I've mostly eaten frozen garlic toast rather than frozen garlic bread, but the salad is so crisp and flavorful I will probably continue to purchase it. I really love the soft center and perfect amount of crunchy on the outside of the garlic bread. My favorite skillet meal of all is the penne and grilled chicken in vodka sauce, I really love the taste and I will definitely continue to buy it.

All this talk has made me hungry :p Note to self: don't review bzzagent food campaigns on an empty stomach.

Ready to eat in around 10 minutes!

If you haven't yet tried out these products, you definitely should. They have many varieties of skillet meals, but I haven't been able to talk myself into buying any other kind after trying the Penne with chicken and falling in love with it. I certainly intend to try the rest of the flavors though!
